Master in Web
Launch: 2009
Client: UAB

Within UAB’s Communication Department, a new Master’s program, called, ‘Master in Web’, was launched. I was responsible for the website’s graphic user interface and the HTML development. Goals were: the acquisition of new students (both spanish and international) and positioning the programm as a reference.
The website is simple and consists of four sections: explanation about the programm, practical information, subjects and teachers. The bottom of every page displays a form with a request for more information.
In the ‘Master in Web’, I also took part as a teacher in Web accessibility. During a 4 hour morning lecture, I explained the nuances of web accessibility, why it is so important and how to achieve an accessible website. With the additional information, students were able to deepen their understanding of the subject on their own time.
‘Every time we need a skilled web designer with a high knowledge of CSS, we call Esther. At the same time she is creative, trustful and brings good ideas. 100% recommendable.’– Óscar Coromina, Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona

About MissPixel
Global entrepreneur
Based in Barcelona and working in the cloud, I love international flavoured collaborations. I’m fluent in English, Spanish, Dutch, German and French, like to travel and am curious about different cultures. Your project can be discussed in your office enjoying a cup of tea or we can set up a Skype call. There's always a way to communicate!
Skills
In 1998, I earned my bachelors in graphic design in Breda, The Netherlands. Just as the internet bubble formed, I moved to Spain and eagerly studied web design and interfaces on my own. Now, I combine design with teaching, as I love to share my knowledge with students and clients alike. A full work history can be found at MissPixel’s Linkedin profile.
Balance
The joy of work is in the balance: organising and taking care of customers in the user experience field, mathematical challenges in HTML coding and composing bright colourful palettes on screen and paper.
These three perspectives harmoniously come together into one goal: making people happy with useful and beautiful designs. Boy, do I love my job!
